A Little More About Me
Thank you for being here and pleasure to meet you. I am the founder of My Calm Circle, a teacher, trainer, healer, wife, sister, daughter, friend, learner and mother of two wonderful boys.Let me tell you a bit about how My Calm Circle was founded and why I am passionate about teaching baby massage, pregnancy relaxation and mindfulness and relaxation for children and adults.
When I had my first child 8 years ago, I had trouble adjusting to motherhood as my baby was uncomfortable with colic, cried often and did not sleep well. A combination of sleep deprivation and feeling helpless to soothe my baby or feed with peace, I quickly started to look for help. This is when I came across baby massage, learned and then incorporated it into our lives. Baby Massage brought not only a relief for my baby, but also helped me gain confidence as a new mum. The peaceful moments of bonding through positive nurturing touch, singing and eye contact brought so much joy and love to both of us. This is why I decided to train with Gayle Berry, the founder of Blossom & Berry Baby Massage and Yoga and still continue to learn with her extending my practice and knowledge. I believe in the power of love, and embrace the Blossom & Berry's philosophy 'Love Creates Love'. Empowering mums to gain confidence in motherhood, feel relaxed and peaceful and bond with their babies lights up my heart. This is my heart's work that has helped my baby and me, and it is my passion to help other mums and babies, too.
I have had a regular meditation practice for 20 years and have always been the calm, happy, kind and positive person whom people ask ' How do you stay so calm and happy?'. Then, I had children:) Especially my second child who is wonderfully differently wired, super free-spirited, has difficulty with sensory-processing and struggles to manage his emotions has been a true gift in further challenging and growing me. With an aim to help him, and myself I started research on kids' mindfulness and relaxation and came across Relax Kids. Taking Relax Kids training in England was one of the most magical times of my life, as I knew I found what I was looking for. Being a mom and raising children is a challenging yet wonderfully magical journey. Since integrating Relax Kids, we have been better equipped to manage the challenges with the tools to understand and regulate emotions, embrace a positive growth mindset, have emotional resilience,confidence & self esteem, destress and relax. I am passionate to help children and parents by sharing the magic of Relax Kids, and feel grateful to be doing my heart's work.
To give you more insight into my professional background in education, I am a certified teacher with a Bachelor's in teaching, Master's in Educational Management and 20+ years teaching experience in educational institutions in different parts of the world. I am also a certified trainer and have taught various educational and corporate wellbeing workshops, such as stress management, mindfulness, conflict resolution and effective communication skills.
Things that light up my heart are listening to music (check out my Spotify playlist), playing the ukulele and singing, painting mandalas, reading books, spending time in nature, spending time with loved ones, spending time with animals, travelling, discovering new places, learning about different cultures, meeting new people, learning, teaching, community service, swimming, meditating, practicing yin yoga & yoga nidra.
